We’re excited about plans for National Village Day, February 15, which is the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Village Movement and founding of Beacon Hill Village.  We know that many Villages have written their Congressional representatives to support the National Village Day proclamation and also mentioned National Village Day in their newsletters and email blasts.  Thank you!

The central event for National Village Day will be a celebration webinar on February 15.  The event is being organized by the Village to Village Network in collaboration with Beacon Hill Village. Here is an event summary and registration information:

  • The National Village Day webinar will be held from noon to 1:30 pm EST on Tuesday, February 15.
  • The webinar will feature cameos from Beacon Hill founders, trace key developments in the Village Movement, highlight stories from several Villages with different operational models, and celebrate the role of Villages today.
  • Because space is limited, registration will be restricted to Village to Village members. If you sign up on our site we will send you a copy of the recording.

A proclamation in the U.S. House of Representatives (date to be advised), designating February 15 as National Village Day. The proclamation will be sponsored by Congressman Stephen Lynch (MA) to recognize Beacon Hill Village and the Village Movement.

We are so excited to announce that we will have some special guest appearances by Marc Freedman, CEO of Encore; author Dr. Joseph Coughlin; Harvard Research Director Dr. Christine Ritchie; new Villages; founding Village members; and a personal message from Alison Barkoff, Principal Deputy Administrator for the Administration for Community Living!
